Research Your Business Filing in our Learning Center

Business Filing Research

Business Filing Research

If you want to start a business or are considering changing your business structure, one of the first steps is knowing how to file your business.  Business filing is important as it dictates the ownership and formalities of how your business will run and operate.  Business filing is important as it helps you to conform your business to the legal guidelines that have been set forth.  While there are many different business filing categories to choose from, two of the most common business filings are LLC’s and S Corps.

Because each business filing has different rules and guidelines, it is important to do the proper research in order to choose the filing entity that works the best for your business.  This research can also help you to know how to structure your business in order to fit with the filing guidelines of the entity of your choosing.  Not only will the research help with your entity selection, but it will also help you to know the tax ramifications of each entity choice.  Selecting a business filing that has the most tax advantages is a vital part of running a successful business.

As you can see, business filing is a very important part of running a successful business.  The way that you file your business will affect every aspect of how the business is organized, runs, and how the cash flows through it.  Researching the different business filings is the key to starting or re-structuring a successful business and a great place to start your research is in our Learning Center.

Forming an LLC for a Home Based Business

Is forming an LLC right for a home business? That question is addressed in a new article just published to our site by Jade Roberts. Because of her past corporate experience and now being a stay home mom who is becoming an entrepreneur, she has a unique perspective on this topic.

I believe that many of our customers believe any structure, whether an incorporation filing or forming an LLC, is intended for large businesses and that couldn’t be farther from the truth. Generally, the corporate structure is used by larger companies with more complex structures, but forming an LLC works equally well for a very small, one owner business or for a large company. In fact, some very large companies use the LLC structure because it is so convenient and simple to manage. Those same reasons make it ideal for the very smallest business.

So, if you are thinking about starting a home-based business or already have one, you may want to read her article to get a new perspective. If you still have questions about forming an LLC, feel free to give us a call. We are always glad to help!
