It definitely can be confusing, so we compiled a ton of information for you on this topic and placed it in our Articles section of the site. You can read the full (and very long) document by clicking here. This will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about an LLC and a few things you probably have never thought or heard of.

Incorporation Filing or Forming an LLC: Which Should You Choose?

Should you choose a corporation or LLC for your business?

Choosing a Business Structure: Incorporation Filing or LLC Filing?

Is an incorporation filing the right choice or should I be considering forming an LLC? Which one is right for my business? Honestly, if I had a nickel for every time I’ve been asked this question…well, you know. We do get this question often, so we regularly add new content to our website trying to answer this and similar questions in every way they are asked.

Our most recent addition, is entitled Incorporation 101, however, after reading it I think it goes well beyond a 101 version of this topic. It’s actually a pretty detailed discussion of the differences between an LLC, a corporation and remaining a sole proprietor. I think if you read this it should help you make a better decision relative to the needs of your business. Additionally, it discusses options to using our incorporation service. How’s that for open communication? We really want what’s best for you and if we can help you decide between an incorporation filing and LLC filing, we are happy. If you decide that our incorporation service can help you with the filing, we are even happier. Ultimately, we want you to know that we are here for you, with honest and open intentions. Good luck with your new business!

Read How Forming an LLC Saved My Business

Forming an LLC Saved My BusinessForming an LLC Saved My Business! Now, that’s a catchy title. I came up with it after speaking to a customer this week who said those very words to me. He credited forming an LLC with still being in business after going through a business related lawsuit. I hear these stories all the time and it’s easy to forget that I should pass them on so you can learn from the mistakes others make as well as how their correct decisions helped them.

If forming an LLC could save his business, could it do the same thing for you? Are you currently a sole proprietor? Have you already protected yourself with an LLC formation or maybe a business incorporation? What about insurance? In speaking with this customer, I was reminded of just how important it is to layer protection. Forming an LLC is a critical first step, but in most cases it may be just one of many that you need to take.

If this interests you, take a few minutes and read this story I wrote describing what happened to the customer I mentioned. I go into detail about how a silly problem became a lawsuit, about how layering protection ultimately saved this customer and why he felt that forming an LLC was such an important part of his overall liability strategy.

I Just Read an Article Titled: “Forming an LLC or Business Incorporation: Which One Should I Choose?” and I Think You Should Too!

by: Mark Thomas

Scott Weddle just sent over an article for me to review about choosing between forming an LLC and business incorporation that I think everyone should read. This is a simplified approach to helping you understand the difference between forming an LLC and business incorporation and what that choice will ultimately mean to you and your business. Too many business owners don’t give enough thought to this topic and often just follow the advice of a friend or relative rather than systematically trying to understand what is best for them. Don’t make this mistake. Read Scott’s newest article and I believe you will have enough information to make a rational decision. You can find it here:  Forming an LLC or Business Incorporation: Which One Should I Choose?
